The goal of this blog is to allow others to share our journey of an expanding family and to ask for prayer as others share in this journey of growth. From foster care to adoption to the birth of our biological children, through the loss of our eldest and on into the next foster and birth experiences along with building our house we hope you'll join and enjoy hearing about what is going on in our family's life.

A life well lived
Anellah passed away this afternoon in peace. Daniel and I were holding her.
Oh dear Lindsey, I don't know where to begin. My heart goes out to you. I loved reading what you wrote above. Thank you for sharing your heart. I'm so glad that Anellah was part of my life even though for just a short time. She brought shear joy to us all just by smiling! I'm so glad I got to know her when I babysat for her and Capper and Evelyn. She was so careful when showing me how to read her meter, and so happy when the number was good. I'm so proud of you for showing her how to be a little girl, how to love life, how to love Jesus, how to be a "big sister", how to plant seeds and watch them grow, how to wonder at baby animals, to hold tiny fluffy baby chicks, how to be brave and strong. She seemed to accept her life, her physical limitations, as Normal! You taught Capper and Evelyn to totally love their "different" sister. Lindsey, you even made cornrows in her hair! You rock Mama! What a wonderful Mother and Teacher of Life you are dear girl.
The days and weeks ahead will be rough. Please keep reaching out,ask for help anytime. Call me - I'm still available to babysit, or whatever you need of me. I love you and your family very much.
I'll never forget Anellah's joyful smile! We are all better people for having known Anellah!
